Series A Team (30-40 people): Engineering expands to 15-20 (frontend, backend, mobile, ML, infrastructure, QA), Product grows to 3-4 PMs, Design team of 3-4, Creator Success team of 5-6, Sales team of 5-6, Marketing team of 3-4, Operations team of 3-4, plus Finance, HR, Legal.
CTO: Own technical architecture, lead engineering team, make build-vs-buy decisions, ensure scalability and security, oversee ML/AI development. Head of Product: Define product roadmap, prioritize features based on user feedback and business goals, work with designers on UX, coordinate with engineering on feasibility. Head of Creator Success: Own creator onboarding and retention, provide support and training, gather creator feedback for product, build creator community, run creator programs and events. Head of Partnerships: Build brand relationships, negotiate deals, demonstrate platform ROI, expand partnership inventory, develop self-serve tools for brands. Head of Growth: Drive creator and user acquisition, manage paid and organic channels, optimize conversion funnels, run experiments, analyze cohorts and LTV.
Recruit from companies with relevant experience: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube (social product knowledge), Stripe, Shopify (creator economy platforms), Netflix, Spotify (content recommendation), fintech companies (underwriting and risk models). Prioritize mission-aligned candidates passionate about creator empowerment over purely compensation-focused talent. Build diverse team representing creator demographics and global markets. Offer competitive compensation with meaningful equity stakes (0.1-2% for early employees).
